The Australian Entomological Society is calling for grant applications from student members for attendance at the upcoming 2023 conference in Albany, Western Australia.
The Board has approved up to 12 individual grants of $300 each, to be reimbursed to successful applicants for the cost of travel or registration at the conference, subject to provision of receipts.
Eligibility
Applicants must be members of the Australian Entomological Society and enrolled as students at a university in an Honours (~1 year full time or equivalent), Research Masters (~2 years full time or equivalent) or PhD (~4 years full time or equivalent). Student members involved in AES committee activities may also apply.
Application
Applications will be assessed by the quality of the application and demonstrated benefit of the award. The application should consist of the following:
- Full name
- Enrolled degree (Honours, Masters or PhD) and study load (full-time or part-time)
- Start date of candidature and associated university
- Research project
- Abstract submission for the conference (if yes, include title)
- Principal supervisor (position, address, email)
- Justification (~300 words)
Justification should include the benefits of your attendance at the conference: explain how this is relevant and important for your research and how attendance will help your student development (i.e. professionally or through networking and education).
Applications should be emailed in PDF format to the Director of Student Affairs at patricia.slattery@flinders.edu.au by the 30th of June 2023. Applicants will be notified of the outcome within 45 days after close of submission.
