The Award is named in honour of the late Dr Alan Yen. It commemorates his passion and dedication of his life’s work on invertebrates, particularly in the areas of conservation, entomophagy, and biosecurity.
In 2021, the Award will be offered for the best Oral or Poster Presentation that addresses issues in the conservation of insects and allied invertebrates.
Nominees for the Award will be assessed by members of the AES Conservation Committee at the Australian Entomological Society’s annual conference, according to the quality of the science and presentation, and the significance and outcomes of the conservation issue.
The Award is open to members of the Australian Entomological Society presenting papers/posters at the conference. Please indicate your nomination for the Award when submitting the abstract.
