STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS
2018 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

Welcome! The Australian Entomological Society is proud to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2018 Student Travel Grants.

These grants are aimed at supporting our student members by assisting with the costs associated with attending AES conferences. All student members presenting either a talk or a poster at this year’s conference are strongly encouraged to apply.

This year’s conference is situated in Alice Springs, NT. To assist with the increased costs associated with attending a conference in this remarkable location, the Australian Entomological Society has increased the number and value of this year’s grants. There are 8 Student Travel Grants available that will cover the cost of the student’s conference registration ($500 each).

There are two categories of Student Travel Grants:

1. “Honours/Masters/Early PhD”

Four grants will be awarded to Honours, Masters or PhD students in the first half of their candidature (Hons and Masters at any stage, PhD students up to 18 months). We understand this is a critical time in your career where feedback from your peers can be extremely valuable.

2. “Advanced PhD”s

Four grants will be awarded to PhD Students in the second half of their PhD (18 months +). Sharing your research is an important part of your professional development and the conference provides invaluable networking opportunities.
