The Council of Heads of Australian Entomological Collections CHAEC Speaker Prize

CHAEC-logo The Council of Heads of Australian Entomological Collections is proud to announce the third CHAEC Speaker Prize, valued at $300.00. This award will be presented for an outstanding presentation that highlights collections-based research or the utilisation of entomological collections. The role of CHAEC is to promote all matters of interest relating to entomological collections in Australia, to increase awareness of the importance of entomological collections in research and education, and to facilitate management, cooperation and understanding amongst them.

Illustration and Photographic Competition

The Society’s Illustration and Photographic Competition aims to encourage and recognise high standards of entomological illustration. It is held in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference where the entries will be displayed and judged.

The competition consists of three categories, Student Illustration, Open Illustration, and the Photographic category. The illustration categories are further divided into Black and White, and Colour sections.

The Society will usually make available $200 for First Prize and $100 for Second Prize in each of the four illustration categories and $200, $100 and $50 for First, Second and Third Prizes in the photographic section. Highly commended certificates will also be awarded where appropriate.

The judges retain the right not to award all prizes if entry numbers or standards are not sufficient.
